Foursome support

23 April 2014

WISTA-UK, IBIA, CILT and Tyndall Manchester have given their full backing to the forthcoming Maritime, Logistics and Energy (MLE) series of events that will be taking place in Liverpool in June as part of the International Festival of Business.

Llewellyn Bankes Hughes of Shipping Innovation, MLE co-organiser, commented: “Backing from these four membership associations is an important boost for this important series of maritime events. We look forward to welcoming their members to the exciting MLE events.”

The International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) has a worldwide membership comprising shipowners, charterers, bunker suppliers, traders, brokers, barging and storage companies, surveyors, port authorities, credit reporting companies, lawyers, P&I clubs, equipment manufacturers, shipping journalists and marine consultants.

WISTA-UK is part of the global Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA) and provides networking, education and mentoring to enhance the competence of women in the maritime sector and empower career success.

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in the UK - CILT (UK) - is the professional body for businesses involved with logistics, the supply chain and transport.

Tyndall Manchester, which is  is primarily based in Manchester University’s School of Mechanical,  Aerospace and Civil Engineering, has a research community that brings together scientists, engineers, social scientists and economists, providing considerable and diverse academic expertise on all aspects of energy and climate change.

The MLE programme of events will take place from 9 to 20 June, and is jointly organized by Mersey Maritime and Shipping Innovation.
